Guided tour: The Workers’ Assembly Hall

Join us for a guided tour in the Workers Assembly Hall and learn about the struggles and the victories of the Danish Labour Movement.

The Workers’ Assembly hall is situated at Rømersgade and is now hosting the The Workers’ Museum and the many related activities. The building was erected in 1879 by workers who raised the fundings in unity, and the building was meant for workers. In this house the workers could unite, discuss, and organize, and you could say, it’s the hearth of the Danish welfare society.

About the tour

With the guided tour “Welcome to the Assembly Building,” you’ll get up close to the building’s history, architecture, and its use for political, professional, and cultural activities over the past 150 years. The tour takes place in the Banquet Hall of the Workers’ Museum, which was restored in 2021. Therefore, you’ll also gain insight into the architectural choices made during the restoration and have the opportunity to experience the hall’s unique sound compositions and audio collages.
