Udløbet Oplevelse 22. Nov. 2018 - 30. Dec. 2018 Christmas at The Workers Museum Hjem // Arrangementer // Christmas at The Workers Museum Christmas at the Workers Museum – A family experience From the moment you walk through the gate and into the old backyard you will feel the warmth of the old Christmas spirit. Lights, Christmas trees and a warm atmosphere will guide you inside the Workers Museum. In here you will find the Christmas traditions of the Danish workers. Christmas elfs, decorations, cookies, Danish æbleskiver (fritters), hot cocoa and pure ‘hygge’ are warming up the old Workers Assembly Hall. Visit from the 22th of November till the 30th of December and be part of our historical Christmas month. Christmas in the 1950s In the 1950s exhibition you can visit the worker family Hansen in their decorated apartment. Lots of elfs, ornaments and a Christmas tree in the living room will take you back in time to an era where Danish Workers had to make their Christmas decorations themselves due to rationing. You can also get a taste of a special rationing marzipan. It was made from potatoes in the 1940s and 1950s to be frugal when money was tight. Visit the decorated shopping street with an old fashioned clothing store, radio shop and photographer. Afterwards you can visit the lovely 1950s Coffee Bar that serves hot cocoa, gingerbread and coffee with Rich’s. You can also enjoy our traditional chocolate buiscuit cake. Go to Café og Øl-halle 1892 for delicious homemade Fritters (æbleskiver) and warm, soothing Gløgg. The Gift Shop Find your Christmas presents in our beautiful Gift shop stocked with all things Christmassy. Elfs, candles, scraps, Christmas ornaments, advent calendars, books and much more will make your Christmas feel like the ones of the Danish Workers.
