The museum is situated close to Nørreport St. and Torvehallerne. Step out into the backyard where the laundry hangs on clothes lines, and let yourself be guided through exhibitions that show everyday life of the Danish working class for the past 150 years. Feel the historic atmosphere in authentic surroundings from another time.
The museum is open on every day from 10-16, Wednesdays 10-19.
In the basement of the old building you will find a hidden pearl – Café og øl-halle – a restaurant from 1892. Get close to the Danish history and get a taste of the traditional Danish lunch including rhy bread, different cold cuts and spreads, all collected in a delicious buffet og Smørrebrød. It as many pieces of smørrebrød as you want and try both traditional and modern takes on the Danish open-faced sandwich.
The essence of our kitchen lies in organic and sustainable products. This means that we only serve meat from free-range animals, vegetables free from pesticides and fish from sustainable fishing.
Café og Øl-halle is open Monday-Saturday from 11-17 (the kitchen closes at 16)
